Some T-shirt deisgn

I helped out a friend who was on the Genocide walk committee with some designs for their shirt this year.

Every year, this organization walks down the Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia to remember and raise awareness about the Ottoman genocide of Armenians in 1915. This event is not taught in high school history and is denied to this day by the current Turkish government. The US government doesn't recognize it either. I think the old Armenians and their progeny would like some type of recognition. I think the walk is a cool way to raise awareness. Armenians cultural identity is in their community and besides going to church this is one way for them to get together. After the walk they have a speaker and a traditional dance troupe preform. Another cool point is that the committee in charge of organizing everything (the people I worked with on the design) were all young and involved. It is good to see that there will be people to keep the culture alive throughout the generations.

Digital watercolor excercise

Found some neat inking and watercolor brushes. Just testing them out with some Charles Bronson fan art. He was one baaaaaaaaaad mother.... p.s. I don't think he used a .44 in any Death Wish movies. He did use a Widely and even though they have a very unique look, I stuck with the iconic .44.

Some orthographic work I've done. These types of images are used as reference for 3D modelers.

Masters Studies
I'm not nailing the "look" like Elvgren could. His are much more beautiful. Mine still look kind of dumpy. Good learning though.

This view of the head was really tough. Not perfect, but I learned a lot again. Elvgren sure knew how to paint some classy dames. What a great job to have!

Here's my attempt at Gil Elvgren. i felt like doing a face and Elvgren's got some nice faces. I also, love his skin tones. He makes his ladies look really soft and warm. I messed up on some proportions, but learned a lot yet again.

What is going on in this picture?



Yet another epic GAM flyer, this one for the show on June 26. I didn't add any info to the image this time, instead when printed, it will have an ugly white space underneath for info. Just trying a different approach to flyers, I don't think anyone keeps track or even cares about flyer images, but I do (kind of) and lately, they are sucking a lot. I will do my best to keep good art out there. Well good looking at least.
